In addition to working in glass, Bill is a successful painter. He earned his B.S. Degree in art education and received his M.A. Degree in painting from Eastern Michigan University. He is represented in several private collections and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He was commissioned to paint a 60 foot mural at the Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

He began to formally study glass about ten years ago at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. He has worked with several nationally known glass artists including Hank Adams, Herb Babcock, Albert Young, and Fred Birkhill. Bill has exhibited his work at the Alfred Berkowitz Gallery at the University of Michigan. Joesph T. Marks (Curator of Collections & Exhibits) wrote, "Bill very successfully develops unique artistic styles in various formats. Bill has the perfect combination of technical expertise and creativity in his work."

Bill presently maintains a studio at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit.
